On June 18, the PFCD held the third Capitol Hill breakfast briefing in its Road to Health Reform series, “Lessons from State and Community Health Reform Efforts,” which discussed examples of state health care reform efforts that focused on reducing health care costs and the burden of chronic disease.
During the event, the speakers discussed their efforts to enact comprehensive health care reform policies to address rising health care costs and improve patient outcomes in states and communities nationwide. Each speaker reiterated the message that achieving a delivery system that places a premium on reducing the burden of chronic disease should be at the center of any effort to reform health care.
