The Partnership to Fight Chronic Disease (PFCD) is excited to announce it's 2016 educational program - Addressing California's Leading Cost in Health Care: The Growing Burden of Patients with Multiple Chronic Conditions.
More than 190 million Americans, or about 59 percent of the populations, are affected by one or more chronic diseases. Having one chronic condition can increase the risk of developing another. Without change, the number of people with three or more chronic diseases is expected to increase to 83 million by 2030, and overall costs will accumulate to more than $42 trillion.
At our August event we will explore the human and economic impact of chronic disease here in California and hear from a variety of health researchers and patient advocate experts.
- PFCD Chairman Dr. Kenneth Thorpe
- Wayne Su, Co-lead researcher, IHS
- Rolf Benirschke, former San Diego Charger Placekicker, co-founder of Legacy Health Strategies
- Larry R. Lanier, President of State Advocacy & Community Outreach National Patient Advocate Foundation
