Thomas Johnson

Thomas Johnson has served a MHPA’s President & CEO since September 2004. Mr. Johnson represents the interests of the Medicaid health plan industry before Congress, the Executive Branch, and state governments. Mr. Johnson is also the Founder & President of the MHPA Center for Best Practices.

Elizabeth Tilson

Dr. Tilson is Board Certified in Preventive Medicine and Pediatrics and is a Fellow in the American College of Preventive Medicine and the American Academy of Pediatrics. She currently provides primary care in the Wake County Human Services Child Health Clinic and is the Medical Director of Community Care of Wake/Johnston Counties; a care management, quality improvement program that is part of the statewide program, Community Care of North Carolina. Her local network encompasses approximately 100 primary care practice sites and 80,000 Medicaid patients.

Robert Freeman

Robert Freeman brings over 30 years’ experience in industry, academia and consulting in health economics and public policy. He currently serves as Professor, Clinical Effectiveness and Outcomes Research, at Midway College School of Pharmacy in Kentucky. Most recently, he was Professor, Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Director of Graduate Studies at Texas A&M Health Science Center, Rangel College of Pharmacy.

Kenneth Thorpe

Kenneth Thorpe, Ph.D., currently serves as the Robert W. Woodruff Professor and Chair of the Department of Health Policy & Management, in the Rollins School of Public Health of Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia. He also co-directs the Emory Center on Health Outcomes and Quality. Dr. Thorpe is currently the Chairman of the Partnership to Fight Chronic Disease.

Jeffrey L. Sturchio is President and CEO of the Global Health Council, the world’s largest membership alliance of public health organizations and professionals (in more than 100 countries on six continents) dedicated to saving lives by improving health throughout the world.

Dr. Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih was appointed as the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia in October 2009 by President Soesilo Bambang Yudhoyono and joined his cabinet which is called the Second Unified Indonesia Cabinet. One of the goals during her term as the Minister of Health (2009-2014) is to achieve universal coverage in social health insurance.

Kori Krueger, M.D. is the Assistant Medical Director of the Institute of Quality, Innovation, and Patient Safety at Marshfield Clinic, Marshfield, Wisconsin. He is board certified in internal medicine and pediatrics. He is Assistant Medical Director of Anticoagulation Services and the Dyslipidemia Care Management.

As vice president of quality strategy and outcomes for XLHealth, Laurie Russell oversees quality improvement initiatives across the company, helping to ensure that the plan’s model of care results in positive health, quality of care, and financial outcomes for its members.
